Purpose of Fairview Farm Trail Run & Walk

Introduce Beverly Park and all its beauty to all of you in the area who have never heard of it. Trails are constructed and maintained by members of Linn Area Mountain Bike Association, but they are for everyone to enjoy. I hope you enjoy the wildness and natural surroundings of the trail system. I hope you appreciate the challenges and rewards trail running offers. Modest entry fees and awards allow me to keep the event simple. After expenses are met any excess entry fee money will be donated to the Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department for improvements to Beverly Park.

On Friday the 28th ICORR is hosting their ride at Sugar bottom.

Then on Saturday the 29th LAMBA is hosting a ride at Beverly Park.

Bring lights to both rides because it will be dark and you never know what is out there.

Morgan Cross Flyer

Morgan creek Park is a wonderful park where many LAMBA members enjoy Cross country skiing. Look for those announcements this winter.

Cyclocross racing has competition but also a laid back atmosphere of fun. Mt Bikers are welcome to race on their Mt Bikes.

What a day!  The turn out exceeded our expectations, the weather was great, and the course was pretty fun.

I can’t thank all of you enough.  It was a group effort for every step of this and would not have been possible otherwise.

Thanks again for putting on a great race yesterday, best course so far this year, and bar none the most fun.  Had it all: barriers, mud, sand, stairs, and the log on the hill made it.  From the outside (maybe you were running around with your head cutoff) it looked like everything was organized very well.

No stairs at work for this old guy in the next few days, elevators only.

On Saturday, October 1st, 2011 from 11:30AM – 1:30PM LAMBA will be sponsoring the IMBA Take a Kid Mt. Biking Day at Beverly Park. Bring the kids out for a fun day of riding small obstacles and the trails near the parking lot. Also feel free to take your kids on a tour of the whole park.

A grill will be available for anything you want to bring for lunch.

*Parents, please plan to stay at the park while your child is riding.

Plan is to do a basic skills clinic for those who are new or nearly new and get other women together for riding, fun, and drink. Sorry guys, you’re watching the kids this time!
